Mike McKenzie (he/him) is an award winning singer/songwriter from based in Edinburgh. In 2019 he was named BBC Scotland’s ‘Singer/Songwriter of the Year’ and went on to play some of Scotland’s most iconic venues including King Tut’s in Glasgow and The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh. While the live sector struggled throughout the pandemic in 2020, he reverted back to focussing on songwriting and developing his sound as an artist, landing somewhere between Tom O’del, Maggie Rogers, David Gray and Brandi Carlile.

McKenzie's music has since been described as “Gorgeous” by Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2 and "Absolutely Stunning” by Grant Stott on Radio Scotland. This past year he focussed on touring, playing in as many new venues around Scotland as he could including two sold out headline solo shows at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh. He also co-curated Sofar Edinburgh’s Pride Show and perform on BBC Radio Scotland’s iconic live music show ‘The Quay Sessions’ with Roddy Hart for their Edinburgh Fringe Special. Mike is currently writing his debut album set for release in 2025.

Alongside his solo work, he also provides lead vocals for collaborative studio outfit ‘PJ Moore & Co.’ with legendary synth player PJ Moore (The Blue Nile) and award winning composer/producer Malcolm Lindsay.
